SECURITY DEPOSITS TRAPS FOR THE UNWARY

Review of Mass. General Laws, ch. 186, sec. 15B, and
Mass General Laws, ch. 93A, sec. 9 as it pertains to security deposits.

The Law governing Security Deposits is specific and can be hazardous for the landlord who fails to follow the law
(Resulting in double to treble damages against the landlord)

Learn the requirements and necessary steps of maintaining a security deposit and/or retaining all, or a portion of, the security deposit (ie. statement of condition, requirements of letter to tenant).
